Many of the paintings featured here are local scenes in and around Salt Lake City--at nearby parks, mountain settings, and areas around Logan, Utah, 90 miles to the north.
My favorite times to paint a landscape are in the spring, when the yellow-green buds begin to emerge on the trees, grass and bushes, and the fall, when the leaves change from green to gold, orange and red. Mid-summer is the time to capture wildflowers growing in mountain meadows.
